Who's 30?!

Happy Birthday Love! It is official to say that you are getting old!
He had a great birthday! Connor and I went skiing and had a great time. It snowed last week, so the snow was really soft and really good! There wasn't very many people there so we could just ski onto the lift. We did tons of runs, it was fun!
Not only did we ski but he did his service for the day. Connor is always so willing to help and do things for other people. He is always doing service. On our way up to the ski resort we passed a wreck that had just happened. The man rolled his truck. I won't go into details, but I am glad that we were there at the time and that Connor has some medical training, so he could be of help to this injured man. I was really proud of him. It makes you stop and think about how fragile life really is and in less than a minute things can change. Take a minute and make sure you tell your family you love them!
Happy Birthday Connor! I love you tons. I am the luckiest wife!

Christmas 2009

Our Christmas was great! It lasted for a while because of all of the parties! I just combined all of the parties in the one slide show. Mara was so much fun! The only thing she asked for this year was an umbrella. She was pretty easy this year. My family had a party and my mom gave the three girls that are 3 years old some dress ups! She made them bridal sets, skirts and tu tu's. The girls just loved them and Mara is always dressing up in hers! We did lots of sledding and playing in the snow! It was really fun. All fun seems to come to an end and it did for us, when we all got Strep Throat. It wasn't fun. I apologize to any of you that we passed it too. I really feel bad. I didn't ever have it written in my plans, but I guess things don't always go they way we plan.

Random!

Look who is finally walking!! Avery has decided that walking is the best way now. She could stand up in the middle of the floor, by herself at about 10 months. But her feet would not budge. She took her sweet time learning how to walk and now she thinks it is pretty cool. I think she is going to be running in a few weeks because now Mara chases her and she tries to go really fast, and usually her feet can't keep up and she lands on the floor.
What a girlie girl! A lady that works with Connor gave Mara a princess nail care set and it had fake nails in it and did she ever love them!

Mara's last dance class was a parent class, where we could go and watch her. It was so cute!
She absolutely loved it! We can't wait for next semester.
Avery was not a huge fan of Santa, but she took the candy cane from him, very willingly!

Mara told Santa that she wanted an "unbrella".

We have had a few huge snow storms and it has been a lot of fun to go and play in the snow!

WWWEEEE! We have a little hill in our backyard and it is a perfect sledding hill for the girls!

Christmas Preparations!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It had been 6 years since we have been to Thanksgiving with my family. All of us were there, the big boys all worked downstairs finishing a bathroom in my parents house. They had to much fun doing it. Us girls woke up on Friday morning at 4:30 a.m. to do the Black Friday deals! Yes, we are crazy, but it feels so good to get a good deal! It was fun!
Now it is time to prepare for Christmas. Mara has been asking for the past month, when we can get a Christmas tree. It is so fun to have a house, so we can actually put up Christmas lights (Connor loves lights, so in a few years when we get trees and other things we may be like the Griswold's) and we can have a big Christmas tree!

Here are the girls helping put up the Christmas lights!

Every year we cut our Christmas tree down up in the forest above our house.
This is the girls waiting for us to cut the tree down!

I know, I know, this is such a lovely shot. I just had to have proof that I cut the tree down. Well, I actually didn't cut it all the way down, my arms tuckered out about half way through.

While Avery was waiting, she figured out she could eat snow. She started out eating it off her gloves. The snow was crusty, so it was hard to get more on her gloves so she resorted to this...

"Aw! Much better, that snow tastes so heavenly!" She started licking the snow.

Us by our tree. Every year we have had to get really little trees because of our little apartments, but this year we have a room that does not have anything in it yet so we found ourselves a big tree and put it in there. It is so fun to have a big tree. After we get furniture in the room we won't be able to get quite so big of tree because, it takes up about half the room. But for now it is Fun!

This picture is classic. Mara is putting the ornaments on and Avery is taking them off.
We also saw one of Santa's Reindeer, antlers and all, in our back yard the other day. Mara thought that it might of been Rudolph, but we aren't "quite" sure because we didn't get a good look at his nose.
I am so excited for Christmas this year, it is so fun with kids!

Introducing the new fad!

This beautiful crown is made out of 100% pure recycled paper in the form of card board. It was the support for the one and only Charmin toilet paper. Don't get jealous ladies. I know that I could sell these crowns for millions, but I am willing to just tell you how to make it yourself. Use the whole roll of T.P., don't throw the card board center away because this the main part of the crown. Find a head band and figure out a way to attach the card board. Of course it has to be secure, so it doesn't flip flop back and forth. I found that twist ties work the best. You have to use two, if you use one the beautiful crown with flip flop back and forth and the beautiful princess wearing it will break down and cry because it is not right. You better make yours soon else the fad will be over before you know it! You too could look so beautiful and be a princess for a day!

Once again I am amazed at Mara's imagination. I would have never thought to make a crown out of a toilet paper roll and think that it really is beautiful.

Who knew!

Who knew a three year old could be so smart. Mara has been cracking me up lately. She has been saying the funniest things. This morning we all woke up and were sitting on the couch trying to decide what we should have for breakfast. I was holding Avery on my lap and Mara wanted to sit by me too. So, she came over and was trying to lay her head on my leg. Well, Avery gets very jealous when anyone else is around me and doesn't like it. So she was trying to kick Mara off of me. I was trying to find a way that would work for both of them, but nothing was working for Mara. She got frustrated and finally sat up and said, "Dad, (who was sitting on the other couch) would you like a girlie on your lap?" Connor answered "yes, of course I would." I was thinking that since Mara said that, that she would go and sit on his lap. But, Mara proceeds with, "okay, I will bring Avery over." She gets down and picks Avery up and carries her over to him. I just started laughing. My kids surprise everyday with what they say and what they do. I just think to myself sometimes, how did she know to do this or that? I am blessed to have the two darling girlies that I have.

Halloween Festivities

We had a fun Halloween! It is so fun to celebrate holidays with kids! When I was little everything was so fun, then as I got older it was fun, but not as fun. Now it is just as fun as it was when I was a little girl. I love to watch my kids get so into things and get so excited over the littlest things! Mara was Tinker Bell and she loved it. When we got home Halloween night, I asked her to take her wings off and she did, but then she became sad and a little quite and she said, "but mom, I was supposed to learn how to fly." She realized that if her wings were off she couldn't, and we didn't ever have time to practice. She had a blast knocking on doors and going from car to car at our ward trunk r' treat. Avery was a really cute monkey. I was also a monkey, but obviously not so cute. Connor my hilarious husband was a Wet Sow. (I think that is how to spell it.)

Cute family picture!

Happy Halloween, Connor won the funniest costume prize at our ward party!

Our pumpkins! We are not professionals, but it is fun still!
We had a Halloween party at the Thompson's and this was one of our games, it was fun.

Avery getting wrapped up as a mummy, she was not to sure about it, but she loved tearing it apart and making a mess!
I love this costume! They are extra large Cruisers!
